A family figuring out, in public, whether we can build a more flexible life abroad.
We’re Kath and Jon Stenstrom. Our Expat Project follows our family as we research and plan a possible move from Los Angeles to Malaysia, and document the practical decisions families have to make before relocating.
We cover cost of living, visas, healthcare, schools, safety, housing, and the tradeoffs of building a more flexible life outside the United States.
The goal is simple: make the research we’re already doing useful to other families considering the same leap.
